			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>&#8220;Because hospital expenses and dramatic increases in health  insurance are causing a crisis of cost in healthcare, providers need to  reconsider the traditional methods of controlling expenses&#8221;, says Joe  Colonna, CEO of SIH, a Seattle-based firm specializing in expense  management.</p>
<p>SIH&#8217;s service will help to address a pressing need in the industry,  the need to strengthen the supply chain and materials management  functions in healthcare.   According to a 2002 research study by one of  the nationÂs largest volume purchasing companies for hospitals, some  healthcare systems could realize 8-14 percent in supply cost savings.   Since supplies represent 20-25 percent of all hospital expenditures,  better management of these expenses could produce astronomical savings  for hospitals. To assist providers with these efforts, SIH has developed  a service which will recruit supply chain and materials management  professionals for providers with the specific characteristics, skills  set, and knowledge to match current and future needs of the  organization.</p>
<p>SIH believes that the inefficiencies in hospital expense management  are NOT attributable to incompetence on the part of hospital materials  management professionals. According to Colonna, &#8220;These individuals have  rarely received the specialized education and training to enable them to  expand their role to keep pace with the rapid increases in non-labor  expenses. At the same time, their ability to assume a leadership role in  <a href="http://curdbee.com">expense management</a> has been limited by several critical factors; time,  adequate staffing levels, and resistance from department managers who  control large portions of hospital budgets. Our services will help  providers to address all of these issues.&#8221;</p>
<p>According to Colonna, SIH is not the first to identify this need.  In  his book, The Health Care Value Chain Dr. Lawton R. Burns, (Professor  of Health Care Systems in the Wharton School at the University of  Pennsylvania and Director of the Wharton Center for Health Management  and Economics)  points out that the role of hospital materials managers  may be invisible and undervalued. Dr. Burns states, &#8220;Hospitals must  realize they are missing the opportunity to control and manage their  non-labor expenses by not enhancing their supply chain and materials  management efforts.&#8221;</p>
<p>Colonna added, &#8220;This service is not contracted management for supply  chain and materials management. To paraphrase Jim Collins comments in  his book, Good To Great, it is about getting the right people on the  bus, a process which can be assured by using our team of true experts.&#8221;</p>
<p>Despite the current crisis of cost in healthcare, unlike other  industries, hospitals have failed to adequately transform their expense  management efforts from a disjointed approach to a coordinated one using  organization-wide processes. <p>The current low level of interest rates have made it slightly more affordable for first-time buyers to get on the property ladder by way of lower interest payments on their mortgage. Banks who are willing to give a mortgage on the basis of a 10% deposit charge punitive interest rates and conditions. Most lenders require a deposit of 25% or higher.</p>

Instead of relying on a bank to obtain financing for the purchase of a home, under their terms and conditions, it is possible to use ones pension to loan the shortfall in capital needed and repay the interest to the SSAS very tax efficiently.</p>
<p>If you have sufficient funds in your pension, you can loan half the amount to your company, which may use the money to loan onto the director (who&#8217;s offspring needs the deposit), via the director&#8217;s loan account. The interest payments are set by the pension scheme, provided interest is at least one percent above the base rate. It is therefore possible to lend money at a rate of 1.5% using the current base rate of 0.5%. The loan must have a term of no more than five years, but can be rolled over once for an additional term of no more than five further years. Tax relief is also received on the interest payments to the pension scheme plus to ensure the SSAS does not face a loss, a first charge on an asset of equal value is made. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>LONG BEACH, California, April 27, 2010 – ACOM Solutions, Inc. has  introduced a set of enhancements in EZContentManager (EZCM) v.3.10.0 <a href="http://www.acom.com/">document management solution</a> that  further simplify operations and provide greater flexibility to workflow,  it was announced today by Product Manager Angela Doolittle. While most  of the new features apply broadly, a new Accounts Payable General Ledger  Distribution module currently interacts with Sage’s MAS 90/200/500 and  will be opened to other ERP applications in later versions of EZCM,  Doolittle said.</p>
<p>&#8220;This module eliminates redundant paper work and manual GL coding by  moving the functionality from MAS 90/200/500 over to EZCM,&#8221; she said.  &#8220;Once the user has scanned an <a href="http://curdbee.com/">invoice </a>into EZCM, she/he can pull up the  code table, find and apply as many codes as needed, apply the  corresponding amounts, and electronically route the AP expense <a href="http://curdbee.com/">invoice</a> for approval, all within the EZCM Process Manager workflow engine. When  the <a href="http://www.acom.com/accounts_payable/invoice_processing_automation.html">electronic  invoice approvals</a> are complete, EZCM exports the data to the Sage  MAS ERP for billing. The whole operation is virtually seamless.&#8221;</p>
<p>Other enhancements include:</p>
<p>- Workflow Process models allowing conditional participants to be based  on metadata values. This will allow routing based on departments, PO vs.  non-PO type invoices, and more.<br />
- The new &#8220;Assigned to Me&#8221; filter in the Process Manager allows managers  and other users to view workflow streams to identify all of the tasks  that require their attention. They can also view all pending and  completed tasks.<br />
- Enhanced sorting and filtering capabilities.</p>

COMODO FIREWALL PRO (NEW VERSION 3.0) AVAILABILITY</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Welcome back to the show. Melih is with Comodo. When you were here last time you were speaking about Comodo firewall version 2.0?</p>
<p>Melih: Correct</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: And now?</p>
<p>Melih: And now it’s Version 3. It’s in beta now and it’s going to be released very soon.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: So where shall we start.</p>
<p>Melih: Well let’s start with when its going to come out first.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Is it out yet?</p>
<p>Melih: It’s out in our forum as a BETA version. People can go download it and play with it.<br />
WHY CURRENT APPROACH FROM OTHER VENDORS IS FLAWED</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: This new firewall would include HIPS. What does that mean if it is going to include HIPS?</p>
<p>Melih: The name of the game now is prevention not detection. Detection is dead &#8212; long live prevention and that’s what we are going to talk about today.</p>
<p>Detection is good but now it is all about prevention. You know it’s like having a burglar alarm that only recognizes certain burglars. There is malware which we do not know about – and these unrecognized viruses go through without notice and that’s why we have a huge problem. The days of the anti virus, and the way we fight viruses are, well, gone and dead. We have to start preventing malware. There are 3 steps that one has to follow: Prevention, Detection and Cure. Just like you have a house with a door. The door prevents people from coming in and then you have the burglar alarm in case the door breaks down. Then, you have insurance if both fail. We need to start bringing that into computers. Today we only have a half working burglar alarm. That’s called the anti virus unfortunately.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Well, I like your analogy there.</p>
<p>Melih: I am looking at a site, VirusTotal, that reports on malware. In the last 24 hours, there has been 18,135 new malware and only 2 of them have been detected by at least one anti virus engine. So what happens to the rest – they get onto your computer without being detected. And that’s what we want to change.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: It definitely needs to be changed because, look, viruses are not going away.</p>
<p>Melih: It’s exactly the point. I mean look at it. Now your computer has to check all the files you have in your computer &#8211; literally 10&#8217;s of 1000&#8217;s of files to see if any of those files have viruses on it.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: It checks forever. It does not work very well.<br />
COMODO&#8217;S NEW APPROACH IN FIREWALL PRO V3.0 – BASED ON WHITE LIST TECHNOLOGY</p>
<p>Melih: Checking for virus once they are on your computer is a losing battle. So the current default allow system is bad because it will let anything in and then check whether it is good or not. No! No! No! We have a new system now, it’s a default deny. I will deny until you’ve proven to me that you are good enough to get in and that’s the difference. And that’s the difference we are going to make.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Why can I not just use my Windows firewall, why is it not good enough, why should I get this new firewall from Comodo.</p>
<p>Melih: Well the problem with Windows firewall is it does not prevent attacks. It detects some of that but it does not have good outbound capabilities. What I mean is when there is a malware in your machine you need to know if it’s making a connection to the outside world or not. A firewall which has good outbound capabilities provides that to you. It tells you, “hey there is something here in your machine making a connection to the Internet” and that is very very valuable information. That alerts you and stops you from doing something wrong.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: It’s like a coin toss where they allow or not. It is almost random whether to allow it or not. How does Comodo deal with this?</p>
<p>Melih: Well that’s a big big big area. I mean Comodo deals with this by creating the world’s biggest safe list. What we have done is we have a team of people whose job is to simply identify what is a good file and what is not a good file. We&#8217;ve got a database of under a million good files now.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Known good files. You recognize them and you know that they are safe.</p>
<p>Melih: Correct. And by that way, we do not bother the users by asking that. So we prevent Pop up Fatigue. Pop up fatigue is going to be the thing of the past with version 3 of Comodo firewall. We only ask the user if we do not recognize the file. And as we continue to update our database, it will recognize more and more files.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Well I am glad to hear to that.<br />
HOW COMODO PROTECTS AGAINST DRIVE BY DOWNLOAD THREATS</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Let’s talk about the ways people are getting infected now with the drive by download attacks.</p>
<p>Melih: I mean sometimes you just visit and don’t even click on things and the site executes a Buffer overflow attack. What that means is that it finds a vulnerability in your system or browser or messenger system and it injects the code straight into your machine without you even knowing about it. Drive by download attacks are the biggest problem that we have today, one of the biggest threats.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Let me ask you this. If someone has Comodo Firewall – are they safe?</p>
<p>Melih: Very much so. But the beauty with our version 3 of our firewall is once you have it you can almost certainly bet your bottom dollar that you are not going to get malware.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: That’s a pretty big statement. Say it one more time for me.</p>
<p>Melih: Once you have our version 3 of our firewall, unless you disable it you are not likely to get malware into your system.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: That’s a bold statement. I got some customers that have a gift for getting themselves infected and I know they would be perfect to see if it actually does what you say.</p>
<p>Melih: The reason why we can say such a bold statement is because the way we protect PCs is changing now. What we do is only allow good applications to execute in your machines. It’s just simple as that. If we don&#8217;t know an application, we simply do not give it access to your CPU so it can not execute and get installed on your machine. It’s as simple as that.</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: I got to tell you. It sounds fantastic.<br />
WHY FREE?</p>
<p>Carey Holzman: Now our listeners want to know how you can give it away for free.</p>
<p>Melih: Well the thing is we wanted to build our brand and we thought about it and we said we could give away a free pen. But we thought, hey that’s old news. Why not make worlds best firewall and give that for free and lets see which one increases our brand awareness. Guess what &#8211; the firewall did. The idea is about building a trusted brand for Comodo.</p>

<p>Atlas BI is an advanced business intelligence module developed using Yellowfin’s underlying business intelligence application and providing the seamless integration to Advanta’s ATLAS suite.<br />
Atlas BI improves business performance by presenting meaningful information in a visually attractive and easy to read format. As part of the Atlas e-Logistics suite, Atlas BI comprises of a number of components as shown below:</p>
<p>Atlas BI Ereports is a reporting toolkit which provides for the development of web based enquiries and reports which are presented in a visually attractive and simple to read format. Atlas E-reports’ transforms data from data tables into graphical reports which are easy to analyse. For example pie charts, report tables and line graphs.<br />
Atlas BI Dashboard is adashboard toolkit allowing the development of a personalised business intelligence dashboard. Atlas Dashboard enhances the visibility of business performance. It displays performance of specific objectives against pre defined targets, providing the tools to improve business decisions through out the organisation.<br />
Atlas Console is a software and services bundle providing a logistics specific dashboard and reports together with a set of pre configured data views implementation services.</p>
<p>The ATLAS BI suite will be enhanced in the near future with; -</p>
<p>Atlas BI Alerts which will allow the establishment of system wide alerts to be triggered and delivered in response to specific user defined events. Atlas BI Alerts will utilise SMS and internet email integration technology to deliver alerts to the designated person or team.<br />
