Since their pilot implementation at two of their clinics last  spring, CMH has extended the portal to patients to approximately 10 of  their clinics, enabling secure online access to their medical record  information via Citizens’ own web site.</p>
<p>&#8220;Empowering patients by providing access to their medical record through  the patient portal is an important part of our service to our patients  and the community,&#8221; said Denni McColm, Chief Information Officer at  Citizens. &#8220;The ability to view test results, to securely message a  physician and to pay a bill online are all services that patients expect  and that CMH can now deliver.&#8221;</p>
<p>Patient access to personal health information stored in medical records  is becoming more and more important to healthcare organizations  nationwide since it will be a requirement to qualify for reimbursement  incentives associated with the <a href="http://www.lssdata.com/govt">American Recovery and Reinvestment Act</a>.</p>
<p>Based in Bolivar, a town of roughly 10,000 people, Citizens has emerged  as a nationally recognized model for effective and progressive rural  healthcare delivery. In 2005, they became the first rural and first  non-academic hospital to win the prestigious Davies Award of Excellence,  a national award honoring excellence in the use of health information  technology. Their implementation of the LSS Patient Portal provides one  more tool for connecting and engaging patients across their wide network  of rural health facilities.</p>
<p>Patients who visit any of Citizens’ family practice clinics may now  enroll to receive secure access to their medical record information,  including medical problems, medications, immunizations, allergies, vital  signs and lab results. Through the portal, patients can also request  appointments and prescription refills, view details of their previous  visits, and communicate directly with their providers through secure  messaging.</p>
<p>&#8220;It’s been a very positive collaboration,&#8221; said Greg Osmonson, LSS Vice  President of Programming &amp; Software Development. &#8220;Their feedback and  suggestions helped refine a product that needs to work for a number of  distinct sets of users, from patients and their providers, to billers,  schedulers and other office staff.&#8221;</p>
<p>McColm and her staff have set an ambitious goal for the first half of  2010. They’d like to see a ten-fold increase in the number of registered  portal users. Likewise, LSS has an aggressive schedule to implement the  portal at additional customer sites in 2010.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Topman has launched the fourth in a series of projects which invites a handful of designers to create their ideal version of a staple wardrobe piece. This season sees the humble white T-shirt reworked by designers Richard Chai, Phillip Lim, Christopher Shannon, Juun J, JW Anderson and Henry Holland alongside the in-house Topman design team.</p>
<p>Both JW Anderson and Christopher Shannon have shown their designs with Topman previously through the MAN partnership with Fashion East which started eight seasons ago.</p>
<p>JW Anderson presented designs as part of MAN AW09 and is widely being hailed as one to watch. His design uses an eclectic mix of details: a long raglan sleeve finished with a shirt cuff, split shoulder button detail and a scoop back hem. The overall look is reminiscent of a traditional shirt.</p>
<p>Christopher Shannon has twice shown as part of MAN and is renowned for re-working sportswear. For the latest project, Shannon has designed a T-shirt using his trademark all-over print design. This design is available in two colourways; one a tonal white-on-white print and the other a black-on-white contrast print.</p>
<p>MAN has been the only on-schedule menswear show for a number of years and was the catalyst to this year&#8217;s successful AW09 dedicated menswear day. MAN enables a handful of young designers to show their collections during London Fashion Week.</p>
<p>US designer, Phillip Lim, has taken his inspiration for the latest project from Asia, using origami style folded pleats to create a bib front T-shirt design, a leisurewear piece that has transpired from a tailored shirt design.</p>
<p>New York based designer, Richard Chai, has gained a cult following as part of the new wave of American menswear designers. Chai has kept his T-shirt design simple using asymmetrical patchwork shapes to create a simple yet effective design.</p>
<p>Originally from Korea Juun J made his debut in 2007 at Paris Fashion Week, now he is a regular on their schedule. Juun J has produced a poncho style oversized hooded T-shirt design to create a distinctive streetwear feel.</p>
<p>Henry Holland, who is famed for his tongue in cheek slogan T-shirts has this time gone for a simple approach by producing a straightforward monochromatic T-shirt with a contrast &#8216;H&#8217; appliqué which is complimented by a square neckline.</p>
<p>This time Topman Design has produced two design options to meet the project brief. The first is a boxy oversized T-shirt with a non-functional oversized pocket design. The second is a double layered T-shirt composed of two varying neck lines with a tubular folded hem.</p>

<p>The new t-shirt has been designed to help support the British Forces Foundation, (BFF) and is being made available in 47 Burton stores and online. Burton, the <a href="http://www.burton.co.uk/">mens fashion</a> retailer, has pledged that for every one of the t-shirts, it will make a donation of £1.50 to the charity, in an effort to raise an overall donation of around £10,000.</p>
<p>The British Forces Foundation was set up in 1999 and aims to support all personnel currently serving in the army by providing them with quality entertainment to encourage high spirits and greater enjoyment of duty. The charity appeals to performing artists like musicians to travel to different countries and entertain soldiers, pilots and sailors while they are away from home.</p>
<p>Founded and still supported by the entertainer, Jim Davidson, the BFF has helped entertain women and men in the armed forces for the past 10 years and is now teaming up with Burton in an attempt to encourage more donations in honour of this year&#8217;s Father&#8217;s Day.  The present initiative aims to support families where the fathers are in combat, around Father&#8217;s Day, a time when the gap left by their absence can be felt especially hard by partners and children.</p>
<p>The new Burton&#8217;s &#8220;Dad&#8217;s Army&#8221; t-shirts will provide a fitting dedication to those men currently serving overseas who have families awaiting their return and it is hoped by Burton that the money raised for the charity will help to reduce the impact and feelings of separation which can be felt by the families of service men around Father&#8217;s Day. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yorkshire jeweller HL Brown is to hold a public exhibition and sale of contemporary and 20th century silver to celebrate 100 years of silver design. The exhibition will be held at HL Brown’s Leeds store from 10-24 October and will feature contemporary pieces from names including Liberty, Omar Ramsden, and Katey Felton.</p>
<p>The event is open to the public at HL Brown Leeds, 26 Queen Victoria Street, Victoria Quarter. For further information telephone HL Brown Leeds on 0113 244 0011</p>
<p>HL Brown’s exhibition is entitled &#8216;100 years of silver design&#8217; and includes pieces by the foremost silversmiths and designers of the 20th Century. The likes of Georg Jensen, Liberty &#038; Co, Tiffany &#038; Co, and Gerald Benney will be represented among many others.</p>
<p>In addition, HL Brown is exhibiting collections by established modern silversmiths and designers Martyn Pugh, Bryony Knox, and Grant Macdonald alongside silversmiths and designers who have recently graduated such as Sarah Denny, Suzie Horan and Katey Felton.</p>
<p>Richard Pool FGA, director of HL Brown, said: “The exhibition will be of interest to silver collectors and discerning members of the public who value the highest standards in design. We have deliberately made the decision to showcase the work of some of Britain’s most promising up and coming designers, as well as the more established names that people will recognise more readily.</p>
<p>”We have a wealth of talent in silver design in this country and it is appropriate that we recognise 100 years of silver design by giving designers and silversmiths a platform to show off their creations.”</p>
<p>Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.</p>
