The Witcher 3 would have looked better than ever (pic: CD-Projekt)
CD Projekt did the first look at The Witcher 3 the next gen update, but the most recent details are only for PC.
2022 was a pretty good year for CD Projekt. As they managed to keep the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 behind them and make the game reputation improved enough that people are really excited about its expansion.
I saw a series of new Witchers, including the introduction of an entire new trilogy and the remake of the first game. Then again, the only thing fans were waiting for is the next gen update for The Witcher 3 and now its finally here.
The update for Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PC is coming on December 14th. A new livestream is just beginning to look like a new TV.
As part of the update, the next generation consoles are taking on new performance and quality modes, for those who prefer 60 or 30 fps with improved graphics.
There were certainly no other details from the console, but in the meantime, the problem is quite significant. But on PC, support can be achieved with the support of DLSS, FSR, ray-tracing, and a new Ultra Plus graphic that demonstrates the complexity of the background with the overall level of detail.
On the Xbox One, the new game features more quality textures, improved grass and foliage, a more realistic weather and little details like smoke climbing from chimneys.
Other improvements include an optional new camera, which tracks noticeably closer to Geralt as you ride, new control options that allow you to trigger a magical Sign, plus full dual-Sense support for the PlayStation 5.
There’s a lot of other nips and tucks, as well as a new photo mode, as well as promised support for various formats.
It remains to be seen whether the utmost people trust the CD-Projekt as much as they did before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, but next gen the witcher is a big part of their charm offensive, and they will certainly know how important it is to get it right.
